The Young and the Restless’ Melody Thomas Scott is celebrating her 35th anniversary on the daytime soap.
The actress, who plays Nikki Newman, appeared on CBS Los Angeles’ KCAL 9 News to discuss her time on the hit series where she feels as if she’s able to play all sorts of different characters under the guise of one. Scott also comments on the success of Y&R: “We are on a great upswing. Our ratings are higher and we’ve been number one for over 25 years.”
“I really think that there is a new feel for to soap, if you want to use that word. People enjoy it. People want to see it. I think we’re really going further than we’ve ever been,” she continued about the resurgence of the daytime soap after a period of decline.
