This Thursday’s Big Brother Canada eviction episode saw Bruno Ielo being evicted from the BBCAN Odyssey house! Bruno, the third veteran houseguest to be evicted this season, will join Sindy and Neda on the jury. We spoke with Bruno following his eviction about who he wished he could have played with, who he’s rooting for to win (and who he isn’t!), as well as his favourite moment inside the house.

At what point did you realize you were going to go home?

You know what, when I got nominated beside Kevin, I knew there was a good chance that I was gonna go home over him. But when Karen got nominated as a replacement nominee, that’s when I knew that my game was pretty much dead in the water.

Did Karen taking Kevin’s place on the black give you any hope at all?

The only hope that I had was that Karen was going to self-evict or just drive everyone crazy. That was the plan, but you know, it didn’t happen. Once she calmed down, I knew it was over.

What was the biggest difference for you between the first time you played in season three and this time around?

The first time, in season three, nobody knew what I could do or how I was… How I could play. This time around, people knew when I came in. Also, it was just how amped up this season was. It was high intensity from night one and didn’t slow down one bit.

Who’s game play surprised you the most?

I would say Sindy’s game play surprised me the most. She was very quiet for the most part. She wasn’t in any danger until she was in danger and then she went to jury. Sindy definitely surprised me the most.

Who’s game play disappointed you the most?

I would say Cassandra’s game play disappointed me the most. I was hoping that we could get something going, but she just had something against me from day one.

Was there anyone that you wish you had the chance to work with but didn’t get to?

Cassandra. Absolutely. I was excited to see her walk through the door, I wanted to work with her and I felt that we could have definitely played an amazing game together but you know, we just didn’t connect. She saw something in me that I guess rubbed her the wrong way. I can’t wait to talk to her about it… But Cassandra is the person that I would have loved to work with! It’s such a disappointment that we couldn’t.

Who are you rooting for to win?

Kevin. 100%. He deserves it. Kevin is a great player and he’s done a fantastic job. I really hope that he takes it home this year.

Who do you think doesn’t deserve to win?

You know, there’s a list! I mean, I’m going to say Dre or Jackie. I wouldn’t like to see any of them win.

Why not?

Jackie’s game… I don’t respect the way she’s doing it. Jumping up and around… I just never have respected that kind of game play. I mean, it’s a fair game play, but for me personally, I just don’t like how first she has nobody, then people take her in, she then turns on them the next week. I don’t like that. I don’t respect it. I know a lot of people don’t as well.

What’s your plan for jury? Do you have any hopes of influencing anyone?

I think that a lot of people have their minds made up when they get to jury. They have their minds made up of the game. Basically, I’m going to hear what happens when people come in, week after week. We’ll reassess from there. I’m going to hear everyone out. I’ve been in there with those people for seven weeks, so I have an idea of how people were playing, but it will be interesting to hear what I missed. There will be some new information, coming back… That’s for sure!

What was your favourite moment inside the house this season?

My favourite moment was the Canada 150 party! They put on a beautiful fireworks show and we got to see videos of our families. I got to see my wife and kids. It was unbelievable. I got to see other people’s families, which was great too. You get to connect their outside lives with their inside game-playing lives. It was great. It was a great day, all in all…other than getting nominated! It was the best day.
