CBS has renewed The Young and the Restless today (June 20) for three more years, keeping it on television through 2020.

The Sony-produced soap premiered on March 26, 1973, and has been the number one daytime drama in the U.S. for 28 consecutive years. Y&R also ranks as the number one soap in Canada, where it airs on Global.

In addition to Y&R, CBS also renewed the rest of its daytime lineup including The Talk, The Price Is Right and Let’s Make A Deal through the 2017-18 season. The Bold and the Beautiful was previously renewed through 2018.

“CBS Daytime has never been stronger. From 30 consecutive years of being #1 in the ratings, to another as the most honoured network at the Daytime Emmys our lineup of talk, game shows and dramas connect with our audience like no one else,” said Angelica McDaniel, executive vice president of daytime programs and syndicated program development at CBS Entertainment and CBS Television Distribution. “All of our talent, on screen and behind the scenes, is hard at work making the upcoming season of these award-winning series even bigger and bolder.”

In Canada, CBS’s daytime lineup is split between Global, City and CTV Two — with CTV Two airing The Bold and the Beautiful, City airing game shows The Price Is Right and Let’s Make A Deal while Global broadcasts The Talk in addition to Y&R.

The Young and the Restless airs weekdays on Global and CBS with Canadians being able to catch up On Demand, through the Global GO app and at GlobalTV.com.
