— The soap opera community is mourning the loss of John Conboy who served as executive producer for several soaps including Love is a Many Splendored Thing, The Young and the Restless, Santa Barbara and Guiding Light.
— Former Another World star Jensen Buchanan (ex-Vicky/Marley) has found herself in more legal trouble. The actress — who also appeared on One Life to Live, General Hospital and The Young and the Restless — violated her probation for allegedly drinking alcohol while on felony probation. Buchanan plead guilty last October to driving with a blood-alcohol content more than four times above the legal limit and causing a crash that critically injured a man. She was sentenced to spend 365 days in Santa Barbara County Jail and five years probation.
— This week on Days of our Lives (Global/NBC): Abigail (Marci Miller) stumbles onto a shocking development on Monday (Jan. 22). Rafe (Galen Gering) finds an unusual murder weapon, which leads him and Hope (Kristian Alfonso) to their first suspect in Andre’s (Thaao Penghlis) murder. Gabi (Camila Banus) asks for Stefan’s (Tyler Christopher) help. Vivian (Louise Sorel) and Stefan conspire together.
On Tuesday (Jan. 23), Hope urges Roman (Josh Taylor) not to get involved in the murder investigation. Sonny (Freddie Smith) overhears an incriminating conversation between Brady (Eric Martsolf) and Eve (Kassie DePaiva). Will (Chandler Massey) talks to Marlena (Deidre Hall) about his attraction to Paul (Christopher Sean). — Coming up on DAYS: John (Drake Hogestyn) and Steve agree to investigate who sent Anna a mysterious letter on Jan. 29. Kayla finds Steve struggling with his vision and urges him to see a doctor on Jan. 30. Will vows to help Paul get to the bottom of what’s going on with John on Jan. 31. Tensions rise at Andre’s funeral on Feb. 1, while Carrie (Christie Clark) returns to Salem to defend her parents! Andre’s funeral is interrupted by an unexpected guest on Feb. 2.
— Thaao Penghlis thanked Days of our Lives fans following the reveal on Friday’s (Jan. 19) episode that Andre was murdered. “Thank you so much for always being there and supporting Andre though all these transitions,” the actor posted on Twitter. The actor has appeared on and off as both Andre and Tony on the NBC soap since 1981.
— Gilles Marini (Brothers & Sisters) is checking into Days of our Lives as an attorney named Ted, who’ll find himself drawn to Lauren Koslow’s Kate. Entertainment Weekly reports that the actor starting taping in December and will begin airing this June.
— This week on The Bold and the Beautiful (CTV Two/CBS): Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) has a major meltdown upon learning of Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) and Bill’s (Don Diamont) night together on Monday (Jan. 22). Hope (Annika Noelle) pays Liam (Scott Clifton) a visit and fills him on what’s happened in her life since she left Los Angeles.
On Tuesday (Jan. 23), Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) gets majorly concerned for Ridge, and Bill’s safety, when Steffy confides in her soon to be step-mom (again) that she slept with Bill. Hell hath no fury like Ridge Forrester when he angrily confronts Bill over his actions with Steffy. On Wednesday (Jan. 24), Hope reveals to Steffy that she’s back to stay and Steffy reveals to Hope that she’s pregnant! Realizing that she may be a viable threat in Sally’s (Courtney Hope) dream to be with Liam, Sally and Darlita (Danube Hermosillo) do a little cyber-stalking to get the 411 on Hope.
While begging for Liam’s forgiveness on Thursday (Jan. 25), Steffy is shocked when he suggests to her an alternate scenario. In disbelief that could betray his own son, Brooke confronts and berates Bill for his detestable behaviour. Hoping to bring comfort and resolve to Steffy on Friday (Jan. 26), Bill admits his true feelings and advises her to not allow anyone to bring shame upon her. Ridge attempts to persuade Liam to forgive Steffy and exact revenge on Bill.
— Coming up on B&B: Ridge punches Bill! Quinn (Rena Sofer) makes Ridge and Brooke a generous offer. Brooke asks Rick (Jacob Young) for his blessing to marry Ridge again. Wyatt (Darin Brooks) and Hope see each other. Could Thorne (Ingo Rademacher) help plan Brooke and Ridge’s wedding?
— Big Brother duo Cody Nickson and Jessica Graf (who are also competing together on The Amazing Race) will pop back in on The Bold and the Beautiful on Feb. 27 and 28 — where they work at Il Giardino.
— Both Soap Central and Daytime Confidential report that Genie Francis (Laura) has been fired from General Hospital. Apparently, executive producer Frank Valentini only wanted to keep the pop culture icon on the canvas for a dozen or so episodes per year.
