American Idol Premieres on CTV Two on March 11

American Idol will return to the Bell Media family when it relaunches next month.

CTV has announced that the singing competition series from FremantleMedia International has been added to CTV Two’s midseason schedule on Sundays and Mondays at 8 p.m. ET/9 p.m. MT, beginning March 11.

American Idol’s original run aired on Fox in the U.S. from 2002 until 2016. The new ABC version will once again be hosted by Ryan Seacrest while Lionel Richie, Katy Perry, and Luke Bryan will serve as hosts.

American Idol is a historic franchise. We are looking forward to reintroducing the series and its star-studded judging panel to Canadians as a new anchor for CTV Two,” said Mike Cosentino, President of Content and Programming at Bell Media.

It has also been announced that Gotham will move to CTV Two (from CTV) in the Thursday at 8 p.m. ET/9 p.m. MT, beginning March 1. Masterchef Junior will also be returning to CTV Two, airing Fridays at 8 p.m. ET/9 p.m. MT and will have a two-hour premiere on March 2.

New comedies debuting on CTV Two this midseason include Living Biblically (Feb. 26), Spitting Up Together (March 27), and Alex, Inc. (March 28).
