Fan favourites are headed back to Genoa City as The Young and the Restless is set to celebrate its 45th anniversary on March 26.
It was announced today (Feb. 22) by Soap Opera Digest that Kelly Kruger and David Lago will be reprising their roles next month. Kruger played Mac Browning from 2002-03, while Lago played Raul Guittierez from 1999-2004. Soaps in Depth is reporting that Lauren Woodland will also be returning as Brittany for the milestone. Woodland appeared on the series from 2000 until 2005, when Brittany moved to New York City with her son Joshua following the death of her husband, Bobby Marsino.
Mac, Raul and Brittany were all members of the “Glow by Jabot” teen set in the late ‘90s and early ‘00s along with Billy Abbott (now played by Jason Thompson) and J.T. Hellstrom (the recently returned Thad Luckinbill). Another of the Glow By Jabot teen set included Rianna Miner, which was portrayed by briefly by Rianna Loving and then by Alexis Thorpe from 2000-01.
Also announced by Entertainment Weekly are the old-school comebacks of Jaime Lyn Bauer, Janice Lynde, and Meg Bennett. Bauer played the role Lorie Brooks from 1973 until 1982 and made return appearances in both 1984 and 2002. Lynde played Leslie Brooks from 1973-77. Bennett debuted as Julia Newman (Victor’s then-wife) in 1980 and made appearances throughout the ‘80s and then returned again in 2002.
The Young and the Restless is currently filming episodes for their 45th anniversary week celebration which will kick off on March 26 on CBS. In Canada, the anniversary episode will air on Friday, March 23, on Global.
