Best Week Ever cancelled?

VH1 has shelved Best Week Ever until January 2010 and it might be without host Paul F. Thompkins. To be honest, I never really like BWE with Paul as the sole host when it revamped last year and I know I wasn’t alone… a lot of people felt that BWE w/ PFT was basically ripping off E!’s The Soup. I really preferred the extensive commentary from comedians like Christian Finnegan, Frangela, Judah Friedlander and Jessica St. Clair which was featured in the show’s original incarnation. Sure, PFK was funny, but he was no Joel McHale.

For those who aren’t familiar with the show…BWE is (or was…will be…) an overview of the past week’s developments in pop culture. It has a companion site, and full episodes are available for free download on iTunes (even in Canada).

VH1 did say that they’ll be bringing back Best Day Ever in the fall, for the satirical look at the day’s pop culture gossip. The last BWE of the year aired this Friday and is currently available for download on iTunes.

  1. This is such a great resource that you are providing and you give it away for free. I love seeing websites that understand the value of providing a quality resource for free. It’s the old what goes around comes around routine.
