Parks & Rec, Buffy, Tina Fey and more

— So there’s a lot of casting updates relating to Parks and Recreation at the moment. Here’s a round up of the good and bad. So we’ll begin with the good news, Rob Lowe is slated to appear in two episodes this season and at least six more next season. Party Down star Adam Scott will also be joining Lowe on P&R where they’ll play a pair of government specialists who are sent to Pawnee. Scott’s character is also expected to become a lover interest for our dear Leslie Knope (Amy Poehler). Scott will continue to appear in the second season of Party Down which premieres on Starz on April 23rd, no word yet on a third season of the show.

Meanwhile, White Collar’s Natalie Morales will also appear on P&R later this season where she’ll play Lucy, a busgirl at a Pawnee bar.

The bad news…Paul Schneider is leaving to focus on his film career. Sure, he’s really good in All the Good Girls and Lars and the Real Girl and yeah, his new, Bright Star has been doing awesome but does Mark Brendanawicz really need to leave Pawnee? Entertainment Weekly reports that his character could return to the show in the future when Schneider’s not too busy. Schneider fans can also check this clip out, it’s kinda old now but still funny:

Amy Poehler
and husband Will Arnett are expecting baby #2! Congrats!

Lastly, Aziz Ansari watched Twilight (bad news, I guess) the other day and tweeted about (the good news…for us).

— Not really cool that Buffy’s Nicholas Brendon was booked for getting drunk and causing trouble. Hope he pulls it together soon.

In other Buffy news, James Marsters has joined the pilot of the Hawaii Five-O remake. He’ll be playing a bad guy, naturally.

Oh and MuchMusic has begun airing episodes of Buffy the Vampire Slayer this week which is amazing. Honestly, I’m sure the Buffy soundtrack is way better than the other dramas that are on the former nation’s music station like Greek and the Secret Life of the American Teenager.

— Check out the latest episode of the TV Casualty Podcast here. Kat and I discuss the Oscars, the awesomeness of the last week’s Chuck and then Kat and Jen go over Lost.

Spencer Pratt Herpes Simplex One was kicked off The Hills for six weeks after threatening to kill a female producer.

— An update on Coco Christopher’s potential move to Fox!

Winnie Cooper is pregnant!

 — Check out Tina Fey on the cover of April’s Esquire…wow, right? Here are some pics from the mag.
