90210: Where Are They Now?

In honour of today’s date being 9.02.10, let’s catch up with the former cast of Beverly Hills 90210.

Jason Priestley (Brandon Walsh)

Although Jason Priestley hasn’t reprised his role on the new 90210, he did direct the first season’s “Okaeri, Donna!” which featured the return of Tori Spelling’s Donna Martin. Priestley recently guest starred on ABC’s summer show Scoundrels and will soon headline his own TMN series, Call Me Fitz which is about a morally bankrupt used-car salesman. The Nova Scotia filmed series premieres on Sunday, September 19th.

Shannen Doherty (Brenda Walsh)
After reprising her role as the original bad girl Brenda in the new 90210’s first season, Doherty competed on Dancing with the Stars this past year and filmed a slew of inependant films, including Burning Palms, which is about Los Angeles stereothypes told through five interwoven storylines which also stars Dylan McDermott, Zoe Saldana and Lake Bell. Doherty also lends her voice to FEARnet’s animated web series, Mari-Kari where she voices both characters (but one of them is a ghost!).

Jennie Garth (Kelly Taylor)
Although Jennie Garth’s return to the new 90210 was the main draw for old school viewers, don’t expect to see Kelly in the third season. Garth hasn’t appeared on-screen since they killed off Jackie (Kelly and Silver’s mom) midway through the second season. Garth’s exit could have to do with her disappointment in the storyline that had her indirectly cause Harry and Deb’s marital problems. Garth’s current projects include writing children’s books and starring in a Hallmark movie that was written by her husband Peter Facinelli.

Ian Ziering (Steve Sanders)
The only big projects that Ian Ziering worked on post-90210 was voicing Spider-Man in MTV’s animated series in 2003 and making it to the semi-finals on Dancing With the Stars in 2007. Ziering divorced Playboy playmate Nikki Ziering in 2002 and recently got married to a nurse, Erin Kristine Ludwig this past May. Former co-stars Jason Priestley, Jennie Garth and Brian Austin Green were in attendance.

Gabirlle Carteris appeared on Criminal Minds last March as the mother of a 15-year-old girl who was questioned after crossing paths with a suspected murderer. Carteris turns 50 next year.

After starring on HBO’s shortlived John From Cincinnati in 2007, Perry has guest starred on Law & Order: SVU and Criminal Minds. In 2009, he appeared in the NBC miniseries, The Storm. Perry recently starred in a Canadian direct-to-DVD film, Final Storm, which a biblical apocalypse thriller.

Brian Austin Green (David Silver)
Green’s biggest roles since Beverly Hills 90210 included appearing as Derek Reece on Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles and as Metallo on Smallville last year. As for Green’s personal life, he has a son with former 90210 co-star Vanessa Marcil, named Kassius (born in 2002) and recently married Megan Fox. Green is slated to appear Desperate Housewives as a contractor who’ll mix things up with Bree (Marcia Cross) and new housewife Renee (Vanessa Williams).

Douglas Emerson (Scott Scanlon)
After his character accidentally shot himself on a very special episode of Beverly Hills 90210, Douglas Emerson attended Pepperdine University and later joined the U.S. Air Force. Emerson retired from the force in 2003 and lives in Denver with his wife and two daughters.

Tori Spelling (Donna Martin)
Before her Oxygen and Slice reality show Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood became a hit, Tori Spelling had guest starred on a number of series including Less Than Perfect, Family Guy and Smallville. She even starred on her own ill-fated sitcom on VH1 in 2005 which was about her fictionalized life.(fictionalized because she insisted her breasts were real). So NoTORIous also starred Zachary Quinto. Spelling brought Donna Martin back to 90210 for two episodes in 2009 and has released three books: sTori Telling, Mommywood and unchartered terriTORI.

James Eckhouse (Jim Walsh)
The former Mr. Walsh has stayed busy, guest starring on a number of primetime dramas including Jericho, Nip/Tuck, Las Vegas, Criminal Minds, CSI and Southland. His son, Zander Eckhouse currently stars on ABC family’s Huge.

The actor who played Andrea’s husband has recently guest starred on The Young and the Restless (as a police detective), Without a Trace, House, Parenthood and Days of our Lives (as a Justice of the Peace).

Tiffani Thiessen (Valerie Malone)
Tiffani Thiessen is currently starring on White Collar alongside Matthew Bomer and Tim DeKay. The actress married fellow actor Brady Smith in 2005 and gave birth to their first daughter, Harper, this past June. After leaving 90210, Thiessen appeared on Two Guys and A Girl and starred on Fox’s Fastlane alongside Peter Facinelli (Jennie Garth’s husband).

Jamie Walters (Ray Pruit)
Although he wasn’t on the show very long, Jamie Walters became a pop culture icon thanks to the “Ray Pruit Shirts” and How Do You Talk to An Angel? He’s currently a firefighter/paramedic for the Los Angeles City Fire Department. Walters did appear in VH1’s Confessions of a Teen Idol, but he never managed to make a proper comeback.

Kathleen Robertson (Clare Arnold)
Robertson’s latest film, A Night for Dying Tigers will premiere at this years TIFF and also stars Jennifer Beals, Gil Bellows and John Pyper-Ferguson. The film is about a family on the edge of disintegration.

Vincent Young (Noah Hunter)

Hilary Swank (Carly Reynolds)
You may remember Swank from critical acclaimed and Oscar winning films like Boys Don’t Cry and Million Dollar Baby. How’s that for someone who canned after 16 episodes? Swank will next star in the film adaptation of the 2007 novel Fangland, which is reimagined tale of Bram Stoker’s Dracula.

Lindsay Price (Janet Sosna)
From 2008-2009, Price starred as Victory Ford in NBC’s Lipstick Jungle and most recently appeared on ABC’s doomed Eastwick.

During his hiatus from the soap, Cosgrove appeared as Freddy on Dirty Sexy Money. Cosgrove joined As The World Turns this past March as last Chris Hughes. As The World Turns will air its final episode on Friday, September 17.

Vanessa Marcil (Gina Kincaid)
After giving birth to her son with co-star Brian Austin Green in 2002, Vanessa Marcil returned to her famous role as Brenda Barrett on ABC’s General Hospital for a short 2002-2003 stint – which garnered her a Daytime Emmy Award. Marcil then starred on NBC’s Las Vegas from 2003 until its untimely cancellation in 2008.
