Soap News: Casting Notes and find out how you can get a call from GH’s Dante and Lulu

— AMC has cast Lindsay Hartley (soon-to-be-ex-Arianna, DAYS; ex-Theresa, Passions) as Cara Finn, a woman from Jake’s past and Jordi Vilasuso (ex-Tony, GL) as Griffin Castillo. Griffin is rumored to be paired with Kendall post-Zach. Hartley will also guest star on the eighth episode of Smallville later this season.

Daniel Cosgrove (ex-Chris, ATWT; ex-Bill, GL; ex-Matt, 90210) is set to return to All My Children this December as Scott Chandler. Cosgrove originally played Scott from 1996-1998 before heading to Beverly Hills 90210 to play Kelly’s (Jennie Garth) Brandon-back-to-Dylan transition boyfriend.

— Y&R and B&B fans hoping for (the real) Sheila’s return, will have to continue waiting, Kimberlin Brown will begin playing the judge in David’s murder trial on AMC next month. She first airs on October 18th.

— Meanwhile, AMC’s (and OLTL, Loving) creator, Agnes Nixon will be honoured at next month’s Eighth Annual Giants of Broadcasting Awards in New York. Nixon also wrote for Search for Tomorrow, Guiding Light, As The World Turns and Another World.

Big Brother 12’s Rachel Reilly and Brendon Villegas will appear on the October 25th and 26th episodes of The Bold and the Beautiful as a Bikini Beach waitress and bartender in scenes with Hope, Liam, Amber, Bill and Katie.

Soap Opera Digest is reporting that Michael Sabatino will return to Days of our Lives as Lawrence when Vivian begins to have visions of him while being buried alive in the sarcophagus.

Sebastian Roche will return to General Hospital as Jerry Jacks beginning December 13th. He better not be The Balkan.

TV Guide is reporting that One Life to Live’s executive producer, Frank Valentini, and headwriter, Ron Carlivati have signed new deals with the ABC soap. Valentini has re-signed for two more years, while Carlivati has signed on for three.

— Meanwhile, OLTL has released Jason Tam (Markko) and Terrell Tilford (Greg) from t heir roles.

— First Buffy’s mom and now Dawson’s dad! John Wesley Shipp (ex-Mitch, Dawson’s Creek; ex-Doug, ATWT) will appear as Eddie Ford, the father of the Ford Bros. and Inez’s ex-husband. Kristine Sutherland (ex-Joyce, Buffy) began appearing on OLTL earlier this month as the Dean at Llanview University. Dan Gauthier will also return to the series in the next while as Kevin for a few episodes.

The Young and the Restless has confirmed that both Thad Luckinbill (JT) and Clementine Ford (Mac) will be leaving the soap on November 5th. Both characters are expected to leave Genoa City together.

— Former As The World Turns actors Paul Leyden (ex-Simon) and Maura West (ex-Carly) make their Y&R debut next week. Leyden’s first appearance as Blake on the Wednesday, October 6th Canadian episode, while West’s first appearance as the recast Diane Jenkins (#3) is on the Thursday, October 7th Canadian episode.

General Hospital fans who did not get to be a part of the Toronto meet and greet and brunch and ball from earlier this month with Dominic Zamprogna (Dante), Lisa LoCicero (Olivia) and Ronnie Marmo (Ronnie) for the Children’s Wish Foundation of Canada can still help out. A new auction will begin tonight (Thursday, September 30th) and will run through Sunday, October 3rd for a conference call with Dominic and Julie Marie Berman (Lulu).
