Big Bang Theory, Chelsea Handler, Vampire Diaries and more

The Big Bang Theory’s Jim Parsons, Kunal Nayyar and Simon Helberg were in Toronto last week to tape an etalk special which you can check out here. The special, by the way, just became the most watched episode of etalk – ever. Here are some photos, but you can check out my entire gallery from the taping here (or  here if you want to just view the thumbnails and load images a little quicker).

— It’s bad enough that we don’t even get Chelsea Lately in Canada anymore, but now Chelsea Handler is set to star in a second E! series that we’ll have to download or watch online. The new half-hour series, After Lately, will follow the stuff the goes on backstage at the show. Sort of like the Larry Sanders Show. Filming on the first eight episodes will begin in a few weeks.

— E! is also set to produce, Married to Rock, which will focus on the wives of rock stars. The wives of Duff McKagen (ex-Guns N’ Roses), Perry Farrell (of Janes Addiction) and Steve Stevens (Billy Idol’s guitarist) will appear. The first of eight episodes will premiere on the American cable network on November 7th.

— In other non-essential reality show news, Slater is getting his own show. Mario Lopez will star in VH1’s Saved by the Baby, which will focus on Lopez’s transition into fatherhood. His girlfiend, Courtney Mazza gave birth to daughter Gia Francesca in September. The series will premiere on November 1. No Canadian broadcast has been announced.

— In news that will be no surprise to anyone, Andy Richter has confirmed he’ll be appearing on Conan.

Patrick Stewart has revealed that a fifth Star Trek: The Next Generation film was originally planned, “which would have been a proper farewell for the character.”

— The second/final season of Joss Whedon’s Dollhouse came out on DVD yesterday. Check out the music video for “Remains” which was written and performed by Dollhouse and Dr. Horrible writers Jed Whedon and Maurissa Tancharoen. Maurissa appears in the video alongside Fran Kranz.

— Since there’s no new episode of The Vampire Diaries this week (or next), here’s a promo of the upcoming two episodes and some new promo pictures to tie you over.
