Skating with the Stars, Life Unexpected, the Real Women of SNL and more

— The cast members of ABC and CTV’s Skating with the Stars has been announced. The Real Housewives of New York’s Bethenny Frankel will join Motley Crue’s Vince Neil, Olympic ski-champ Jonny Mosely, Brandon Mychal Smith, All My Children’s Rebecca Budig and the soon-to-be-exiting The Young and the RestlessSean Young (also in Blade Runner). Skating premieres on November 22, once Dancing with the Stars wraps up. Budig told Zap2it that ABC had approached the soap star several times to appear on Dancing with the Stars however she declined because the timing had always been wrong. “Don’t get me wrong, I love to dance, but I am passionate about ice skating. My sister and I skated together growing up, and we’d always watch it on TV. And she is so jealous of me right now!” she adds.

— ABC and Sony’s new Charlie’s Angels series will be helmed by Smallville producer Al Gough. He’s told Entertainment Weekly that while they’ll be moving the show’s setting to Miami instead of Los Angeles, Charlie will still be on the box and “not Skype-ing or teleconferencing…Yes, there is a reason why [he’s not physically present].” Drew Barrymore will also serve as an executive producer. So far, ABC’s only ordered the pilot and casting is underway for the big leads.

— The CW has decided not to order the back nine episodes for Life Unexpected’s second season. Creator Liz Tigelaar told Give Me My Remote that “I think we’re going to try to end the show appropriately, by honouring where the characters are.” Although the series isn’t officially cancelled, the last batch of episodes will air in January.

Julia Louis-Dreyfus is linked to star in, Veep, a new political comedy for HBO about a female vice-president.

— HBO is also developing a new comedy project with Molly Shannon, who’ll play an innocent nun that decides to leave her convent and explore life in the outside world.
