— Exiting The Young and the Restless star Michael Muhney (Adam) set the record straight about his firing with Huffington Post Canada. The actor doesn’t lay blame to executive producer Jill Farren Phelps, like many fans and critics initially assumed, instead the outspoken actor places the blame solely on himself:

“We had a private talk in her [Phelps] office. She’s always been very kind to me. We have a good rapport. It was intimate…the way it was handled. Part of me feels like this is because I’ve always been outspoken, and sometimes I’ve been too outspoken. Sometimes I’ve walked around with a big backpack full of hubris. That is entirely on me. CBS, Sony, and Jill Phelps are not to blame for that. If I’m going to claim to be a grown man, I have to own that. But it could be financial or story. It was explained to me that CBS and Sony want to give Adam a break for 3-6 months and then they’ll bring him back with a different actor. Maybe he needs a break.”

Billy Miller (soon-to-be-ex-Billy, Y&R) and Michael Muhney both received tribute videos…check out Miller’s from the Y&R cast below, while Sharon Case (Sharon) put together her own for her former on-screen love interest.

— Also leaving Y&R is Hartley Sawyer, who will last air as Kyle on January 24 (in Canada; Jan. 27 in the U.S.)

Daniel Cosgrove, who has appeared on pretty much every single cancelled soap as well as Beverly Hills, 90210 is coming to Days of our Lives. The actor who reported to set back in September first airs in late January.

— Be sure to check out my interview with Another World’s Stephen Schnetzer here. We discuss why the soap still resonates with viewers (especially here in Canada) almost fifteen years since its cancellation as well as the popularity of Cass’ friendship with Felicia and his romance with Frankie. Here’s an excerpt where Schnetzer explains that the cancellation of Another World was a power-play decision by NBC:

“NBC was tired of being associated with P&G. They constantly fought about storylines…what was too much and what was not enough. So they didn’t want to be in bed with anybody anymore. NBC wanted to produce their own show.”
