Welcome to Soap News – Part 2, where we recap the latest daytime drama news to break since our regular Friday updates. Check out the latest casting news and this week’s soap promos.
— Former One Life to Live star Kassie DePaiva (ex-Blair) is coming to Days of our Lives. DePaiva will take over the role of Eve Donovan from Charlotte Ross (who portrayed Theresa’s sister/Shane’s daughter/Jennifer’s original nemesis from 1987-1991). Rumours of Eve’s return to the soap circulated last month when Ross tweeted that she had met with execs at NBC to return. Following the news of DePaiva’s signing, Ross revealed that she was unable to return to the soap due to her work load (on Nashville and VH1’s Hit the Floor). Look for Eve to return to Salem this summer.
— Daytime Confidential is reporting that Hunter Tylo may return to The Bold and the Beautiful as Taylor next month. Update: Tylo will not be returning to B&B. Second Update: Looks like Tylo will indeed return to B&B as Taylor! A spokesperson confirmed to Daytime Confidential that the actress will reprise her role on February 28th.
— Soap Opera Digest has confirmed that Rick Hearst will return to General Hospital as Ric this February. Ric was last scene in Port Charles in June 2009 when the character left town via elevator (seriously). In addition to GH, Hearst is also known for his roles on Guiding Light (as Alan-Michael), The Bold and the Beautiful (Whip), Days of our Lives (Scott) and The Young and the Restless (Matt Clark post-plastic surgery).
— She’s back! TV Guide is reporting that Eileen Davidson will return to Days of our Lives as Kristen for a story arc. The actress reports back to set this March and will begin airing this summer.
