TNT has stuck a fork in Southfork. The American cable network announced on Friday that it will not be renewing Dallas for a fourth season.
The revival of the classic primetime CBS series enjoyed high ratings when it premiered in the summer of 2012 but viewership began to fizzle after the death of Larry Hagman (J.R. Ewing) last year. Creatively, the show had many strong moments during it’s third season — especially when drawing upon its rich history and characters.
The news of cancellation comes about a week after the shocking third season finale which ended on multiple cliffhangers, including the ownership of Ewing Global, Elena’s (Jordan Brewster) pregnancy and the death of Christopher Ewing (Jesse Metcalfe).
Original series stars Patrick Duffy and Linda Gray had reprised their roles as Bobby and Sue Ellen Ewing alongside Metcalfe, Brewster, Josh Henderson (John Ross), Brenda Strong (Ann), Julie Gonzalo (Pamela), Emma Bell (Emma) and Mitch Pileggi (Harris). Judith Light also recurred as the wicked Judith Ryland for the last two seasons.

We want to thank everyone involved with the show, from the extraordinary cast to the impeccable production team, led by the show’s creative forces, Cynthia Cidre and Mike Robin [the executive producers], said a TNT spokesperson in a statement.
The series was produced by Warner Bros. and aired on Bravo in Canada.
