— FX Networks has finally renewed Married and You’re The Worst for a second season. Both comedies premiered this past summer and made our “Best of the Summer” list. While both are great, if you’re going to binge watch one first, definitely try out You’re The Worst first. The pickup will see the episode count increase from 10 to 13 for season two. In the U.S., You’re the Worst will move over to FXX while Married will stick around FX. Both shows aired on FXX in Canada. Confused? Don’t be, as both will air new seasons here next summer – which is great news.

— ABC has renewed its summer drama, Mistresses for a third season but the show’s big star Alyssa Milano won’t be coming back. The actress shared on her site that she won’t be able to reprise her role as the series will move from Los Angeles to Vancouver (to cut down on costs) – a move she cannot make herself since she has two children under the age of four.

— Also leaving is Yvette Nicole Brown! The actress won’t be a part of Community’s move to Yahoo! Screen as she needs to care for her ailing father and being a full time cast member won’t allow her to do that. Sony has given a recurring gig on the CBS midseason comedy The Odd Couple.

— Showtime has set the American premiere date for Shameless, House of Lies and Episodes! The trio will return on Sunday, January 11th. All three series should debut the same day/time on The Movie Network in Canada, as they have in the past.

— Those worried that Fox and Global’s Gracepoint will be a carbon copy of Broadchurch (the UK series it’s based on), don’t be! While it may start out similar, the latter episodes won’t be. I guess they’ll take the Being Human approach to it, which is great.

Gilmore Girls makes its debut on the American Netflix today. Sadly, it won’t be available for Canadian Netflix subscribers (“technically” of course). But we’re still in luck! M3 is still re-airing the classic WB/CW series each Saturday morning from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., so set those PVRs.

— After an entire summer of speculation and then a month after the official confirmation, Billy Miller made his debut as the new Jason on General Hospital today? (Although he’s bandaged up). If you missed it, check it out when the episode goes live on Citytv.com later this evening.
