— After U2 had to back out of their Tonight Show residency this week, Jimmy Fallon and The Roots went on to perform their 1988 hit “Desire.” Jimmy as Bono, naturally:
— The Originals has promoted Yusuf Gatewood to a series regular.
— After the launching of Gracepoint, Fox is looking to adapt Luther for American audiences. Neither Idris Elba or Ruth Wilson will star (but Elba will still be a producer) – Will you still watch?
— Hulu has picked up the Amy Poehler executive produced Difficult People, which stars Billy Eichner and Julie Klausner. The pilot was originally shot for USA Network. No word yet if a Canadian broadcaster has picked it up.
— FX is co-producing a series which was created by and will star Tom Hardy along with the BBC.
— TBS has renewed American Dad! for another season.
— Michael Ealy will appear on the third season of The Following.
— Both Homeland and The Affair’s ratings continue to rise south of the border on Showtime, which is great. I know some may have abandoned Homeland some time ago, but this season has been pretty intense. Good to know both shows will be back for another season.
— Ed Sheehan, Ariana Grande and Hozier will join Taylor Swift for this year’s Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, airing on December 9th at 10 p.m. on CBS and Global.
— Lost Girl will premiere its fifth and final season beginning December 7th on Showcase. Check out the new trailer:
