— Canadian soap vixen Jacqueline MacInness Wood will finally return to The Bold and the Beautiful in early 2015 as Steffy Forrester. The actress starred on the soap from 2008 until 2013 and returned for a guest stint earlier this year. According to Soap Opera Digest, MacInness Wood taped her scenes recently and will begin airing at the end of January. No word yet how long she’ll be sticking around.
— The Bold and the Beautiful has cast newcomer Reign Edwards to play the role of Maya’s younger sister, Nicole Avant. The actress makes her debut in the contract role in January.
— Days of our Lives’ Freddie Smith has plead guilty to vehicular assault – which stems from the car crash that seriously injured his girlfriend, actress Alyssa Tabit, in northeast Ohio back in October. Smith’s blood-alcohol level was .093, above Ohio’s legal limit of .08 and will be sentenced on February 18, according to Page Six.
— Look for former General Hospital star Cynthia Preston (ex-Faith) on the Syfy miniseries Ascension, which premieres Monday, December 15. Shot in Montreal, the three-night event series stars Brian Van Holt, Tricia Helfer and Gil Bellows – Preston will play the wife of Bellows’ character. CBC was supposed to broadcast the miniseries beginning November 25 but has pushed the six-hour special to January.
— Kelly Thiebaud aired for the final time as Britt on General Hospital this week. Thiebaud joined the soap as a foil to Patrick (Jason Thompson) and Sabrina (Teresa Castillo) in 2012 before becoming a breakout character following the revelation that she was the daughter of villainous duo Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) and Cesar Faison (Anders Hove) and was paired up with Nikolas (Tyler Christopher).
