— The Bold and the Beautiful aired quite the shocker on the Wednesday, March 18th episode!

In a storyline, dubbed Maya’s secret, it was revealed by L.A. newcomer Nicole (Reign Edwards) that Maya (played Karla Mosley) isn’t exactly her sister, but her brother named Myron.

In an interview with The Wrap, Mosley saw the opportunity in this twist to spread understanding across the globe as B&B’s reach to 35 million viewers in more than 100 countries. In the same interview, executive producer and head writer Bill Bell added that “First and foremost, this is a love story. A love story of the characters Rick and Maya. And they go on an incredible journey together. They fall in love, Rick not knowing that Maya is transgender. And then there is a moment of disclosure, which is always a very significant moment. How is he going to react and how will it end up?”

Look for a big followup to air on Monday, March 23rd to hear Maya’s side of things… Like how she had a baby?!
