The Deal: Pretty much a Valentine’s Day movie for chicks to see together. Set in a picture-perfect New York City, Alice (Johnson) dumps her longtime boyfriend and moves in with her sister (the always funny Mann) and befriends an “out there” co-worker (Wilson).
Alice goes through the basics: dates a bunch of guys, falls for the typical bar owner (Holm) and wants to reunite with her ex…
What the movie does have going for it is the B plot with the Meg (the sister), an OB/GYN who refuses to settle down and have a family, as she falls for a much younger Ken (Lacy) and shocker, ends up pregnant. Lacy’s got a stack of supporting credits to his name (both on TV and in film), hopefully he’ll be leading something soon. Definitely check him out in 2014’s “Obvious Child.”
