The latest Marvel series is coming to FX beginning Wednesday, February 8, 2017.

Legion tells the story of David Heller played by Dan Stevens (Downton Abbey), who is a troubled young man who may be more than human. Since he was a teenager, David has struggled with mental illness, diagnosed as a schizophrenic, he has been in and out of psychiatric hospitals for years. Following a strange encounter with a fellow patient, Said is confronted with the possibility that the voice he hears and the visions he sees might be real. Of course, comic book fans will know that David Heller is actually the son of Professor Charles Xavier.

The series comes from creator and writer Noah Hawley (FX’s Fargo) and the first season will consist of eight episodes. Legion also stars Rachel Keller (as Syd Barrett), Jean Smart (Melanie Bird), Aubrey Plaza (Lenny Busker), Amber Midthunder (Kerry Loudermilk), Bill Irwin (Cary Loudermilk) and Katie Aselton (Amy Haller). Jermaine Clement will recur as Bird’s husband while Hamish Linklater guest stars as a government interrogator.

Legion premieres on Wednesday, Feb. 8 at 10 p.m. on FX and FX Canada. Stevens will also be starring in Disney’s upcoming live adaptation of Beauty and the Beast. Fans of Downton Abbey can also catch Stevens’ former co-star Michelle Dockery in Good Behavior, premiering Monday, Feb. 12 at 10 p.m. on Bravo in Canada.
