Canadians hoping to check out Starz’s adaptation of American Gods will be able to stream it on Amazon Prime Video beginning May 1st, a day after it’s debut on the American cable network.
American Gods is based on the award-winning novel by Neil Gaiman, which is about an ex-convict who becomes the bodyguard of an old deity looking to reclaim his lost glory.
Written and produced by Bryan Fuller (Hannibal) and Michael Green (Heroes), the series stars Ricky Whittle as Shadow Moon, Ian McShane as Mr. Wednesday, Emily Browning as Laura Moon, Bruce Langley as Technical Boy, Yetide Badaki as Bilquis, Crispin Glober as Mr. World, and Pablo Schreiber as Mad Sweeney. Look out for appearances by Cloris Leachman (Zorya), Peter Stormare (Czernobog), Kristin Chenoweth (Easter), Orlando Jones (Mr. Nancy), Dane Cook (Robbie), Corbin Bernson (Vulcan) and Gillian Anderson (Media).
The series was shot around Toronto and Guelph, Ontario.
