General Hospital is losing another cast member. Robert Palmer Watkins, who assumed the role of Dillon Quartermaine in 2015, has been released from the show. The news was first reported by Daytime Confidential on Thursday, August 17. The actor was initially supposed to take a month off to film the indie flick Last Three Days.

Watkins shared a video with fans across social media to thank for their support on Friday (August 18). “This was not my decision to leave the show, but I’m so grateful for the time that I’ve had on General Hospital. It’s been an amazing opportunity. I’ve learned so much.”

We had the opportunity to chat with Watkins last summer where he shared his excitement for playing a Quartermaine and acting opposite Jane Elliot (ex-Tracy). It’ll be a shame to see him leave. Many soap fans were quick to hope he could be cast on The Young and the Restless as a new Kyle Abbott or on Days of our Lives as one of Justin and Adrienne’s boys.
