Based on the New York Times best-selling graphic novel by Grant Morrison and Darick Robertson, Happy! is set to debut on Thursday, Dec. 7, at 10 p.m. ET/PT on Showcase in Canada. In the U.S., the series will air on Syfy and will premiere on Wednesday, Dec. 6, at 10 p.m.

Christopher Meloni (Law & Order: SVU) stars as Nick Sax — an intoxicated, corrupt ex-cop turned hit man — who is adrift in a world of casual murder, soulless sex and betrayal. After a hit gone wrong, his inebriated life is forever changed by a tiny, relentlessly positive, imaginary blue-winged horse named “Happy” (voiced by Patton Oswalt). Happy is the imaginary friend of a little girl named Hailey, who has been kidnapped by a deranged man dressed as Santa Claus and seeks Nick’s help in finding Hailey.

In addition to Meloni and Oswalt, the hour-long series also stars Debi Mazar, Joseph Reitman, Lili Mirojnick, Medina Senghore, Michael Maize, Patrick Fischler and Richie Coster.
