Global has announced the broadcast schedule for the upcoming season of Big Brother Canada.

The sixth edition of the powerhouse Canadian reality series will premiere on Wednesday, March 7 at 7 p.m. ET/PT. The series will continue to air three nights a week, in addition to its Wednesday airing, the series will also air Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT, and Mondays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Global. Episodes will be made on demand, the Global GO app, and at GlobalTV.com following its broadcast airing.

“We have our fabulous fans to thank for their resounding efforts in championing another season of Big Brother Canada,” said Maria Hale, Senior Vice President of Global Entertainment & Content Acquisition at Corus Entertainment. A sixth season of the series was greenlit last summer following protests from fans when they learned the network was placing the fan-favourite show on hiatus. “With a new group of eccentric houseguests combined with an amazing team being the scenes, we look forward to entertaining and surprising our viewers all season long.”

Big Brother Canada selects a group of hand-picked strangers from all over the country and sequesters them from the outside world, and places them inside a house outfitted wall-to-wall with cameras and microphones that capture their every move. Competing for a grand cash prize, each week the housesits battle in a series of challenges that give them power or punishment, voting each other out until the fate of the final two is decided by a jury of their following houseguests.

For the third time in its six-season history, fans can expect a brand-new Big Brother Canada house as Showline Studios (where the series has filmed since season two) was put up for sale last fall.

“We’re preparing another wild season of Big Brother Canada for the most passionate fans in the world,” said Erin Brock, executive producer and SVP of the series. “We’ve witnessed an overwhelmingly positive response across social media platforms and BBCAN 6 hasn’t even started yet. We look forward to keeping that moment going during this big season.”

Big Brother Canada recently received three Canadian Screen Award nominations, including one for returning host Arisa Cox.

Cast and grand prize details will be announced in the coming weeks. The first-ever celebrity edition of the U.S. Big Brother franchise is currently airing on Global and CBS. Click here houseguests and broadcast schedule.
