NBC announced on March 8, 2018, that they are renewing Days of our Lives for a 54th season.

“We’re very excited about having more great ‘Days’ in Salem,” said Bruce Evans, Executive Vice President, Current Programming at NBC Entertainment. “Ken Corday and his team continue to tell stories with which the ‘Days’ loyal audience feels a deep connection. We congratulate them on their remarkable daytime legacy and look forward to what they have planned for the new season.”

Executive Producer Ken Corday adds, “We’re thrilled that the sands will continue flowing through the hourglass for yet another year. We are most grateful to NBC and Sony for their continued support of Days of our Lives. Buckle up because we have some exciting and completing new stories coming to Salem this season.”

Steve Kent, Senior Executive Vice President of Programming at Sony Pictures added that “Ken Corday and his cast and crew continue to reach generations of viewers through intriguing storylines and strong characters. We are proud that generations of fans, both in the U.S. and around the world, will continue to enjoy Days of our Lives into its 54th season.”

The series was created by Ted and Betty Corday and made its television debut on November 8, 1965, as a half-hour program, before expanding to an hour in 1975. In Canada, Days of our Lives is broadcast on Global. The soap has garnered 52 Emmy Awards — including recent wins for Outstanding Daytime Drama (in 2013 and 2015). In addition to being broadcast daily on NBC in the U.S., Bravo has recently begun airing reruns from 2011. The soap is also broadcast in more than 25 countries internationally.

Days of our Lives is currently enjoying critical and fan acclaim now that stories by Ron Carlivati are underway. The scribe was named Head Writer last January and with the help of his team — which include Ryan Quan and Sheri Anderson — resurrected the iconic character of Will Horton (as played by Chandler Massey), as well as the temporary returns of fan favourites Alison Sweeney (Sami) and Eileen Davidson (Susan/Kristen). Upcoming stories will include Stefan (Tyler Christopher) getting closer to Abigail’s (Marci Miller) alter, Hope reconnecting with her son Shawn, and Chloe’s (Nadia Bjorlin) return to Salem. Jen Lilley will also be returning as Theresa this May.

Days of our Lives airs weekdays on Global and NBC. Canadian viewers can catch up on demand, on the Global Go App and on GlobalTV.com. For more soap news and spoilers, click here.
