CBC announced its programming slate for the 2018-2019 television season which will include the revival of the 1987-1994 series Street Legal.

ITV series Vanity Fair, the new adaption of William Makepeace Thackeray classic, will debut this fall on CBC in Canada. Ready Player One’s Olivia Cooke stars as Becky Sharp, an ambitious social climber desperately trying to escape poverty and scale the highest of English society.

New comedy series Cavendish will premiere this winter and comes from the minds of Picnicface troupe founders Mark Little and Andrew Campbell, along with Kim’s Convenience’s Garry Campbell. Bush and Little star as two bickering brothers who return to their PEI hometown to take care of their grumpy and ailing father, only to collide with the eccentric townsfolk.

New dramas include Coroner (a former ER doctor who is now investigating suspicious deaths), Diggstown (set in the gritty arena of legal aid), Northern Rescue (starring William Baldwin and Kathleen Robertson), Unspeakable (about the tainted blood scandal from the early 1980s which will star Sarah Wayne Callies and Shawn Doyle). Street Legal will pick up 25 years later with Cynthia Dale’s Olivia Novak who is now a named partner at a major Bay Street law firm.

Baroness Von Sketch Show and Still Standing will move to Tuesdays this fall. Kim’s Convenience has been renewed for two more seasons and will return in the winter on Tuesdays.
