Citytv Announces Fall 2018-2019 Schedule

Rogers Media announced Citytv’s lineup for the 2018-2019 television season on Tuesday (June 5) morning. City will be the new home to the latest episodes of The Simpsons (moving over from Global TV), as well as the Murphy Brown and The Twilight Zone revivals.

Also moving to City is The Gifted, from Bell Media’s CTV, while midseason series The Resident will head to CTV for its second season.  Canadian series Bad Blood will return for a second season this fall, while Citytv has picked up another new original production, The Bletchley Circle: San Francisco, about two female British codebreakers team who team up with American cryptographers to solve a series of murders. The series, which will air on ITV in the U.K. and on BritBox in the U.S., was filmed in Vancouver and produced by Canada’s Omnifilm.

Drama pick-ups include A Million Little Things from ABC and Manifest from NBC. New comedies include CBS’ Murphy Brown revival, Fox’s REL (starring Lil Rel Howery) and Single Parents from ABC which will star Taran Killam, Leighton Meester and Brad Garrett.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine, which moves from Fox to NBC, will be back on Citytv this midseason. Jordan Peele and Simon Kinberg’s The Twilight Zone revival will air this midseason – it’ll debut on CBS All Access in the U.S. The Orville will also return midseason.

Dancing with the Stars will stick around Citytv, while the Juniors edition will air on Global. New reality competition The World’s Best from Mark Burnett will premiere in midseason. Returning specials include the 61st Annual GRAMMY Awards and Dick Clark’s Rockin’ Eve. Citytv will also broadcast the new live musical Rent. Also look out for new seasons of Love Connection and Beat Shazam.

Reruns of Mom fill the 10 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. timeslots on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays. ABC’s General Hospital airs weekdays. Citytv has picked up the U.S. syndicated entertainment news program Daily Mail TV hosted by Jesse Palmer, which will replace The Chew. CBS game shows The Price Is Right and Let’s Make A Deal also air during the day.
