— HBO has officially ordered Damon Lindeloff’s adaptation of The Watchmen to series. It’ll debut in 2019 and will star Regina King, Jeremy Irons and Don Johnson.
— Madonna turned 60 (!) and released her full MET Gala 2018 performance.

— Amazon Prime Video has released a new trailer for Matthew Weiner’s The Romanoffs.

— Hasan Minhaj said goodbye to The Daily Show this week. He starts his new Netflix gig, Patriot Act with Hasan Minhaj, on Sunday, October 28.
— Also getting a late night premiere date is Busy Phillips. Busy Tonight will also premiere on Sunday, Oct. 28, at 10 p.m. on E! The series will air Sundays through Wednesday. Although it was picked up by Bell Media in Canada, no confirmation on the premiere here.
— ABC is going ahead with The Middle spin-off.
— Jimmy Fallon threw up during a drinking game with Ryan Reynolds on The Tonight Show.
— Knightfall was picked up for a second season by History. Mark Hamill will join the cast as a “warrior monk.”
— Star Trek: Discovery has cast Ethan Peck (10 Things I Hate About You TV; grandson of Gregory) as Spock. Season 2 premieres in January on Space.
— Contract negotiations between Chris Pine and Chris Hemsworth for the fourth Star Trek film are at a standstill. Meanwhile, Pine’s Outlaw King will open TIFF.
— Crazy Rich Asians is tracking for a huge opening this weekend. Looking forward to checking it out this weekend. I’ve been told to stay after the end credits! I really enjoyed Awkwafina’s interview with Variety: “Representation starts both in front of and behind the camera. I think a big reason there aren’t a lot of our stories reflected is people don’t know how to write for us or think they can’t write for us. So I think for any minority group, you need to have writers who can reflect those stories and tell them honestly. It’s important to give people a chance. Take a chance on opening up roles, even leads, for actors of colour.”
