Schitt’s Creek will be back for a special Christmas themed episode on Tuesday, December 18 on CBC!

Announced back in April, this bonus episode sees Johnny (Eugene Levy) hoping to ring in the holidays with a traditional Rose Christmas party like they used to. However, getting everyone to participate will be easier said than done.

The special will air in the U.S. on December 19, at 10 p.m. on Pop.

Schitt’s Creek’s fifth season, which was extended to 14 episodes, is set to premiere Tuesday, January 8, at 9 p.m. on CBC in Canada, and Wednesday, January 16, at 10 p.m. on Pop in the U.S.

Season five will have the Rose family finally thriving in Schitt’s Creek, finding themselves ready to take their personal relationships and business pursuits to the next level. Moira (Catherine O’Hara) returns from a  breakthrough film shoot in Bosnia with a clear exit strategy and a renewed sense of purpose, and with that newfound energy, she is inspired to leave her mark on the town by launching her most ambitious artistic endeavour year. Meanwhile, the reputation of the Rosebud Motel is steadily building under Johnny’s leadership, but managing the individual needs of his staff, Stevie (Emily Hampshire) and Roland (Chris Elliott), proves to be a greater challenge. With Rose Apothecary running smoothly, David (Daniel Levy) is now focusing on nurturing his relationship with Patrick (Noah Reid), and from apartment hunting to joining a baseball team, he proves he’s willing to go the extra mile. Alexis (Annie Murphy), having finally achieved some stability in both romance and career, isn’t one to let things get stale, so she tries to spice things up with Ted (Dustin Milligan) while contemplating a next step that could take her beyond Schitt’s Creek. Jennifer Robertson and Sarah Levy also star.

Catch up with Schitt’s Creek online at CBC.ca, the CBC app, or with Netflix.
