General Hospital Leads Daytime Emmy Acting Categories As The Young and the Restless Nabs Best Series Win
The 46th annual Daytime Emmy Awards were handed out on Sunday (May 5) night in Pasadena, California with General Hospital dominating five of the acting categories while The Young and the Restless took home wins for Outstanding Drama Series, Outstanding Drama Series Writing Team and Outstanding Drama Series Directing Team.
Patricia Bethune, who played GH’s Nurse Mary Pat, was awarded the Outstanding Guest Performer honour.
Days of our Lives’ Kyler Pettis (ex-Theo) won for Outstanding Younger Actor in a Drama Series. Former General Hospital star Hayley Erin (ex-Kiki) won Outstanding Younger Actress in a Drama Series.
Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series went to General Hospital’s Max Gail (Mike), while co-star Vernee Watson (Stella) won for Outstanding Supporting Actress.
Canadian actress Jacqueline MacInnes Wood won for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for her role as Steffy on The Bold and the Beautiful. Outstanding Lead Actor went to General Hospital vet Maurice Benard (Sonny).
