Daniel Goddard took to social media on Tuesday (October 22) to reveal that he’ll be exited the role of Cane Ashby on The Young and the Restless. “I am as shocked and gutted as you are,” shared the actor who joined the CBS/Global soap in 2007. Goddard continued that he wanted to let his fans know that his upcoming story arc would be the last with the show.
Wanting his “loyal” fans to know his upcoming story arc would be his last, Goddard claimed that the series didn’t know what to do with Cane following the death of Kristoff St. John (Neil) and the exit of Christel Khalil’s Lily (Goddard’s longtime love interest), despite the show’s numbers attempts of of linking the character of Cane to the other established families by teasing pairings with Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) and Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland).
