For its 54th anniversary, Days of our Lives has done what no other daytime soap has done before, flashforward one year into the future!
At the end of the November 8th episode, Jack (Matthew Ashford) explained to a confused Jennifer (Melissa Reeves) that she had just woken up from a year-long coma! Head Writer Ron Carlivati spoke to TV Insider about the big twist, “I have to admit, it’s something that I’ve wanted to do for a long time. And it’s a concept I pitched at One Life to Live and at General Hospital, and for various reasons we did not do it. And then at DAYS we thought about doing it a year ago and the timing just did not work out even though we were all excited about the idea, the pieces weren’t falling into place. I kept in the back of my mind and finally the stars aligned, and we realized with the anniversary show coming up, it would be a perfect time and stories were in the right place, and we started to steer in that direction.” Check out the full interview here.

Here’s what’s coming up this week on Days of our Lives: Jennifer (Melissa Reeves) is reunited with Abigail (Kate Mansi) and JJ (Casey Moss) on Monday (November 11). Sarah’s (Linsey Godfrey) baby drama takes a surprising turn. Ben (Robert Scott Wilson) shares his woes with a surprising confidante. An unexpected death is revealed.
On Tuesday (November 12), Jack (Matthew Ashford) informs Jennifer the person responsible for her fall is in prison. Sonny (Freddie Smith) gets acquainted with Rafe’s (Galen Gering) new nanny, Evan (Brock Kelly). Ciara (Victoria Konefal) tells Victor (John Aniston) she’s given up on Ben. Princess Gina (Kristian Alfonso) has a shocking new companion.
Eric (Greg Vaughan) realizes JJ is high on Wednesday (November 13). Nicole (Arianne Zucker) and Sarah share their guilt over their deception. Brady (Eric Martsolf) recalls his struggles from the past year. Chad (Billy Flynn) makes a confession to Abigail.
On Thursday (November 13), Gabi (Camila Banus) tells Eli (Lamon Archey) she thinks Chad is plotting against her. Chad admits to Abigail he’s been in contact with Stefano. JJ blows up at Brady. There is a shocking reveal involving Lani (Sal Stowers).
Princess Gina makes a move on John (Drake Hogestyn) on Friday (November 15). Julie (Susan Seaforth Hayes) is alarmed when her heart starts to race for apparently no reason. Kristen (Stacy Haiduk) talks about the incident that caused her to leave Salem. Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) heads home for a romantic evening.
