Greg Vaughan has announced that he’ll be exiting the role of Eric Brady on Days of our Lives this fall.

The actor appeared on That’s Awesome! With Steve and Bradford, a podcast hosted by General Hospital stars Steve Burton (Jason) and Bradford Anderson (Spinelli), this past week and revealed “I’m taking a break, if you will. Days was going through a renewal negotiation and not knowing where they were going to go.”

TV Line has confirmed that Vaughan will last appear as Eric this September. Days of our Lives head writer Ron Carlivati wished the Emmy-winning actor well and extended an invitation to return to the soap.

Fans will be happy to learn that Vaughan will be returning to Queen Sugar as Calvin when the series returns for its fifth season. Vaughan mentioned that filming of Queen Sugar was suspended following a COVID-19 imposed shutdown earlier this year.

Vaughan began his tenure on DAYS in 2012 and previously appeared on The Young and the Restless as Diego Guittierez from 2002 until 2003 and General Hospital as Lucky Spencer from 2003 until 2009. The TV Watercooler was fortunate to chat with Vaughan back in 2014 where the actor discussed his DAYS role as well some his standout performances on GH, check it out here.

Other actors departing Days of our Lives in the next few months include Kristian Alfonso (Hope), Galen Gering (Rafe), Chandler Massey (Will), Freddie Smith (Sonny), and Victoria Konefal (Ciara).
