HBO Max film An American Pickle is this month’s big Crave premiere. The Seth Rogen comedy makes its debut on Thursday, August 6.
An American Pickle follows an immigrant worker at pickle factory who is accidentally preserved for 100 years after falling into a vat of brine. He awakens in modern-day Brooklyn and goes to stay with his great-grandson Ben.
HBO’s Lovecraft Country premieres on Crave on Sunday, August 16 at 9 p.m. ET. From Jordan Peele and J.J. Abrams, the new drama series follows Atticus Freeman as he journeys with his childhood friend and his uncle on a road trip from Chicago across 1950s Jim Crow American in search of his missing father, Montrose. The search-and-rescue soon turns into a struggle of survival – to overcome racist terrors of white America and monstrous creatures. The series stars Jurnee Smollett (Birds of Prey), Jonathan Majors (Da 5 Bloods), Abbey Lee (Mad Max: Fury Road), Jada Harris (The Resident), Wunmi Mosaku (Fantastic Beasts) and Michael Kenneth Williams (Boardwalk Empire).
Showtime’s We Hunt Together premieres on Sunday, August 9 at 10 p.m. ET. The six-episode drama explores the intoxication of sexual attraction and the dangerous powers of emotional manipulation as two detectives (Eve Myles and Babou Ceesay) track down a pair of deadly killers (Hermione Corfield and Dipo Ola).
