Hulu’s hit series The Great will premiere its second season in Canada on Prime Video beginning Saturday, Nov. 20 – a day after it debuts in the U.S.
Starring Elle Fanning as Catherine and Nicholas Hoult as Peter, The Great’s 10-episode second season has Catherine finally taking the Russian thrown for herself – but if she thought coup-ing her husband was difficult, it’s nothing compared to the realities of “liberating” a country that doesn’t want to be. Look for Catherine to face off against her court, her team, and even her own mother in a bid to bring enlightenment to Russia. All while she continues to navigate her relationship with Peter and learn what else needs to change before being able to change an entire country.
Gillian Anderson will guest star this season as Catherine’s mother, Joanna. The Great’s second season will also include Phoebe Fox (Marial), Adam Godley (Achie), Gwilym Lee (Girgor), Charity Wakefield (Georgina), Douglas Hodge (General Velementov), Sacha Dhawan (Count Orlo), Bayo Gbadamosi (Arkady), and Belinda Bromilow (Aunt Elizabeth).
