Peacock’s MacGruber series based on the Saturday Night Live sketch starring Will Forte and Kristen Wiig will premiere in Canada this Sunday, January 9 at 9 p.m. ET on Showcase and will stream on STACKTV.
Picking up 10 years where the 2010 film left off, the series finds MacGruber (Forte) finally being released from prison. His new mission is to take down a mysterious villain from his past – Brigadier Commander Enos Queeth (Billy Zane). With the entire world in the crosshairs, MacGruber must reassemble his old team, Vicki St. Elmo (Wiig) and Dixon Piper (Ryan Phillippe) in order to defeat the forces of evil.
The 8-episode series also stars Sam Elliott as Perry, Laurence Fishburne as General Barrett Fasoose while Marielle Heller appears as MacGruber’s mom.
MacGruber premiered in the U.S. on Dec. 16, 2021.
