The Bear, FX’s hit new summer series, is now available to stream in Canada on Disney+.
Starring Shameless’ Jeremy Allen White, The Bear follows Carmy, a young chef from the fine dining world, who returns home to Chicago to run his deceased brother’s sandwich shop. Away from the world he’s used to, Carmy must balance the soul-crushing realities of small business ownership, his strong-willed and headstrong kitchen staff, and his straining familial relationships, all while grappling with his brother’s suicide.
The Bear also stars Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Ayo Edebiri, Abby Elliot, Lionel Boyce, and Liza Colón-Zayas with Edwin Lee Gibson, Oliver Platt, and Canadian celebrity chef Matty Matheson in recurring roles. Guest stars include Jon Bernthal, Joel McHale, and Molly Ringwald.
Created by Christopher Storer (Eighth Grade, Ramy), the show boasts a great alternative rock soundtrack featuring The Counting Crows, Radiohead, Wilco, and REM.
All eight episodes of the half-hour series premiered on FX on Hulu in the U.S. on June 23. The Bear’s first two episodes premiered on Disney+ on August 3 with new episodes dropping each Wednesday.
