X-Men ’97 Premieres March 20 in Canada

Marvel’s highly anticipated continuation of the classic ‘90s X-Men: The Animated Series will premiere this Wednesday, March 20 on Disney+ in Canada.

X-Men ’97 will premiere with two new episodes at launch with the remaining 10 episodes of the first season dropping weekly.

The original series premiered in 1992 and ran for five seasons on Fox and is available to stream on Disney+. The new animated series revisits the iconic era of the 1990s as The X-Men, a band of mutants who use their “uncanny” gifts to protect a world that hates and fears them, are challenged like never before forced to face a dangerous and unexpected new future. X-Men ’97 picks up following the events of “Graduation Day.”

Stay tuned to The TV Watercooler for an exclusive interview with Lenore Zann, who’ll be reprising the voice of Rogue alongside Call Dodd (Wolverine/Logan), Alison Sealy-Smith (Storm/Ororo Munroe), George Buza (Beast/Henry “Hank” McCoy), Adrian Hough (Nightcrawler/Kurt Wagner), and Chris Britton (Mister Sinister/Nathaniel Essex).

New cast members include Ray Chase (Cyclops/Scott Summers), Jennifer Hale (Jean Grey), AJ LoCascio (Gamit/Remy LeBeau), Holly Chou (Jubilee), JP Karliak (Morph), Isaac Robinson-Smith (Bishop), Matthew Waterson (Magneto), Ross Marquand (Professor Charles Xavier), Gui Agustini (Sunspot/Robert Da Costa), Gil Birmingham (Forge/Daniel Lone Eagle), and Eric Bauza (the Sentinels).

Returning cast members who will be voicing different characters this time around are Catherine Disher (the original Jean Gey) as Dr. Valerie Cooper, Chris Potter (the original Gambit) as Cable/Nathan Summers, Lawrence Bayne (the original Cable) as Carl Dentil/X-Cutioner, Ron Rubin (the original Morph) as President Robert Edward Kelly, and Alyson Court (the original Jubilee) as Abscissa.

Meanwhile, White Lotus and The Gentlemen star Theo James will also make an appearance in a top-secret role.

The first episode of X-Men ’97 had its Canadian premiere at Toronto Comicon on Saturday, March 16.
