The celebrated late-night institution Saturday Night Live expands across the pond this weekend. Saturday Night Live UK premieres this Saturday, March 21, at 10 p.m. on Sky One in the UK. In Canada, the series will be available to stream on Crave beginning Sunday, March 22.
Update: SNL UK will also air at 10 p.m. ET on Canadian speciality network CTV Comedy Channel.
Helmed by Canadian SNL creator and executive producer Lorne Michaels, the British adaptation will preserve the franchise’s famously gruelling production cycle: every episode is written, rehearsed, and performed within a single week. The show will be staged in front of. A live audience at London’s iconic Television Centre, the historic home of Top of the Pops and the current filming site for The Graham Norton Show.
Viewers can expect the classic SNL blueprint, including an opening monologue, topical sketches, live musical performances, and a UK adaptation of the satirical “Weekend Update” segment.
The Inaugural Cast and Guest Lineup
The Saturday Night Live UK freshman cast features a mix of rising comedic talent: Hammed Animashaun, Ayoade Bamgboye, Larry Dean, Celeste Dring, George Fouracres, Ania Magliano, Annabel Marlow, Al Nash, Jack Shep, Emma Sidi, and Paddy Young.
Ahead of the premiere, Sky announced that the first season order has been expanded from six to eight episodes, each running for 75 minutes. The high-profile host and musical guest lineup for the first three weeks include:
- March 21 (Premiere): Host Tina Fey (SNL, 30 Rock) with musical guest Wet Leg.
- March 28: Host Jamie Dornan (Belfast) with musical guest Wolf Alice.
- April 4: Host Riz Ahmed (Bait, Hamlet) with musical guest Kasabian.
The SNL Global Footprint
While this marks a major UK milestone, the franchise has seen a Canadian iteration before. SNL Québec originally ran from 2014 to 2025, followed by a special one-episode revival in January 2018.
Meanwhile, the flagship U.S. version of Saturday Night Live – currently in its 51st season – is set to resume on April 4. That episode will feature host Jack Black and musical guest Jack White, airing at 11:30 p.m. ET on Global and NBC.
Saturday Night Live UK premieres Saturday, March 21 at 10 p.m. on Sky in the UK and CTV Comedy Channel in Canada , with episodes available for streaming the next day on Crave in Canada. Peacock will stream SNL UK in the U.S.
