2026 Daytime Emmy Awards Winners

General Hospital continued to hold the soap crown while newcomer Beyond the Gates made history at the 53rd annual Daytime Emmy Awards on Friday (Oct. 30) night.

From legendary soap powerhouse dominance to breakout victories for daytime’s newest entry, here is a recap of this year’s daytime drama winners.

General Hospital Extends Its Winning Streak

ABC and Citytv’s long-running staple General Hospital took home the night’s top prize for Outstanding Daytime Drama. This victory makes the show’s sixth consecutive win in the category.

GH legend Genie Francis (Laura) received a Lifetime Achievement award from her husband, Jonathan Frakes (Star Trek: The Next Generation).

GH also scored key creative and acting hardware, taking home Outstanding Writing Team for a Daytime Drama Series as well as Outstanding Guest Performance for veteran actor Jeff Kober for his turn as Cyrus Renault.

Lead Acting Honours: Historic Firsts & Emotional Wins

Tamara Tunie, who first arrived in daytime 39 years ago as Jessica Griffin on As the World Turns, secured her first-ever Daytime Emmy Award for her portrayal of Beyond the Gates matriarch Anita Williams Dupree. The victory capped off a monumental debut season for the CBS and Crave soap.

Scott Clifton scored his fourth overall Daytime Emmy and his second in the Lead Actor category for his role as Liam Spencer on CBS and CTV/Crave’s The Bold and the Beautiful.

Supporting and Emerging Talent Winners

41 years after winning in the same category, The Young and the Restless’ Beth Maitland took home the Supporting Actress award for her beloved role as Traci Abbott on the CBS/Global soap.

Meanwhile, daytime vet Roger Howarth emerged victorious for his performance as a recast Matt Clark on The Young and the Restless.

Beyond the Gates breakout, Ambyr Michelle (Eva Thomas) took home the trophy for Emerging Talent in a Daytime Drama Series.

Creative Winners

General Hospital also won for Casting. Days of our Lives won for Outstanding Directing Team. Beyond the Gates tied with The Kelly Clarkson Show for Outstanding Hairstyling and Makeup. The Young and the Restless won for Outstanding Costume Design / Styling.
