Director: Larry Charles
TIFF Presentation: World Premiere (Midnight Madness)
Country: USA
Year: 2023
Runtime: 86 minutes
Language: English
Cast: Aaron Jackson, Josh Sharp, Megan Mullaly, Nathan Lane, Bowen Yang, Megan Thee Stallion

Larry Charles’ (Borat) satirical musical-comedy take on The Parent Trap, follows a pair of identical twins (wink) conspiring to reunite their divorced and equally deranged parents. Based on Uptight Citizen’s Brigade alums Sharp and Jackson’s off-Broadway play, Fucking Identical Twins.

Dicks: The Musical can be a lot. But that’s the point. Embrace the unhinged and don’t look back. Lane and Mullaly look like they had a lot of fun, and you’ll wonder how they managed to get away with certain scenes.

Wonderfully camp and a crowd favourite, Dicks: The Musical won the People’s Choice Midnight Madness Award. Look for the A24 film to hit theatres this October.

Watch This If: You’re craving some of the trippy adventures from Broad City and Awkwafina is Nora From Queens; missing Bowen Yang on Saturday Night Live, and ready to see Megan Thee Stallion serve on the big screen.
