Canada’s streaming landscape has a massive new contender. JioHotstar, India’s premier entertainment platform, has officially launched in Canada!

The Canadian debut, on September 2, marks the inaugural milestone in the platform’s broader international expansion, which includes the United Kingdom and Singapore. Replacing legacy services, the newly minted app brings JioHotstar’s robust entertainment catalogue, advanced product features, and interactive technology directly to Canadians.

Designed to serve as a cultural bridge for Canada’s South Asian diaspora, while appealing to broader global audiences, the platform arrives with a staggering 160,000_ hours of content, spanning more than 12 languages. The multi-genre catalogue features blockbuster films, high-profile originals, reality television, and dedicated family programming. JioStar has also confirmed plans to continuously expand the library by adding over 30,000 hours of fresh content annually.

  • The Ultimate Bigg Boss Experience: The mega-hit reality franchise (the Indian version of Big Brother) returns across six regional languages. For the first time ever, Canadian viewers can participate in LIVE voting, alongside access to 24x7 LIVE feeds. Additionally, Bigg Boss (Hindi) – hosted by Salman Khan – will stream seven days ahead of its regular Canadian television broadcast, beginning on September 6.
