Game of Thrones Returns for Season 7
Game of Thrones returns for its seventh season this Sunday, July 16, at 9 p.m. ET/PT on HBO Canada — day and date with U.S. broadcast on HBO.
This season will consist of seven episodes and will vary in length. Season six ended with Daenerys setting sail for Westerns with her armies, dragons and new “Hand of the Queen,” Tyrion. Jon Snow’s been named King in the North after defeating Ramsay Bolton in the “Battle of the Bastards,” as Winterfell has returned to House Stark with Sansa by his side. Cersei took hold of the Iron Throne in King’s Landing. And of course, an army of dead men marched towards the Wall.
HBO’s episodic descriptions remain cryptic — as they should… “Dragonstone,” the first episode this season has Jon organizing the defense of the North as Daenerys returns “home.” The second episode is titled “Stormborn,” and features Daenerys receiving an unexpected visitor. Jon faces a revolt while Tyrion plans the conquest of Westeros. The third episode this season is “The Queen’s Justice,” and has Daenerys holding court as Cersei returns a gift while Jaime learns from his mistakes.
Returning as series regulars this year are Peter Dinklage (Tyrion Lannister), Nikolaj-Coster-Waldau (Jaime Lannister), Lena Headey (Cersei Lannister), Emilia Clarke (Daenerys Targaryen), Aidan Gillen (Petyr “Littlefinger” Baelish), Kit Harington (Jon Snow), Diana Rigg (Lady Olenna Tyrell), Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark), Maisie Williams (Arya Stark), Alfie Allen (Then Greyjoy), John Bradley (Samwell Tarly), Gwendoline Christie (Brienne of Tarth), Liam Cunningham (Davos Seaworth), Nathalie Emmanuel (Missandei), Jerome Flynn (Bronn), Iain Glen (Jorah Marmont), Kristofer Hivju (Tormund Giantsbane), Hanna Murray (Gilly), Carice van Houten (Melisandre), Indira Varma (Ellaria Sand), Pilou Asbaek (Euron Greyjoy), Rory McCann (Sandor “The Hound” Clean) and Richard Dormer (Beric Dondarrion).
New cast members this season will conclude Jim Broadbent, Tom Hopper, Megan Parkinson and Ed Sheeran.
Game of Thrones airs Sundays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on HBO Canada. Episodes will also be made On Demand and the TMN GO app following the broadcast. The TMN GO app is available to TMN subscribers and now features offline viewing on select programming.
