  • Don’t Look Back in Anger, which chronicles Oasis’ 2025 reunion, hits Disney+ on Friday.
  • Rivals and EastEnders star Danny Dyer hosts Saturday Night Live UK this weekend. So far this season, the UK import is doing better than its American counterpart. Sasha Keable performs. Airs Saturday at 10 p.m. on the CTV Comedy Channel in Canada and streams on Crave the following day.
  • Russel T. Davies’ new psychological drama-thriller Tip Toe premiered last Friday on Crave (with STARZ). Alan Cumming (The Traitors U.S.) and David Morrissey (Sherwood, The Walking Dead) star as neighbours whose simple disagreements escalate into dangerous hostility in their Manchester suburb. The five-part series explores themes of rising anti-LGBTQ+ rhetoric and online radicalization and was given a 4-star review by The Guardian when it premiered in the UK earlier this year.
  • The new CBS comedy Eternally Yours premiered on Thursday. Ed Weeks (The Mindy Project) and Allegra Edwards star as a vampire couple whose once-passionate romance has devolved into a pulseless marriage after 500 years together. Living in present-day Seattle with their oddball coven, they’ve settled into an eternal run – until their daughter’s earnest human boyfriend unexpectedly enters their lives and forces them to confront whether their love can survive forever (or if forever is a life sentence). The premiere is now streaming on Paramount+ and STACKTV.
  • In case you missed it last week, Zoe Kazan’s adaptation of East of Eden began streaming on Netflix (Oct. 1). The 7-episode mini-series stars Florence Pugh, Christopher Abbott and Mike Faist.
  • Mike Flanagan’s (The Life of Chuck, The Haunting of Hill House) Carrie series premiered on Prime Video this past week, with all 8 episodes now streaming. After her father's sudden death, sheltered teenager Carrie White (Summer H. Howell), raised by her domineering mother, enters public high school, where she faces a viral bullying scandal and the awakening of mysterious telekinetic powers.
  • Ted Lasso wrapped up its 10-episode fourth season this past week. Binge the whole season on Apple TV with Ted (Jason Sudeikis) returning to Richmond to coach a second division women’s football team, the Lady Greyhounds.
  • In theatres this weekend: Aaron Sorkin’s The Social Reckoning follows Frances Haugen (Mikey Madison), a young Facebook engineer, who enlists the help of Jeff Horowitz (Jeremy Allen White), a Wall Street Journal reporter, to blow the whistle on the social network’s most guarded secrets. Jeremy Strong also stars as Mark Zuckerberg.
  • Jessica Chastain pulls double duty in Other Mommy, where an 8-year-old girl living in a home with marital problems confronts a sinister entity which comes out of her closet, and whom she calls “Other Mommy.”
  • Bassam Tariq’s Your Mother Your Mother Your Mother has its limited release – following its premiere last month at TIFF. Mahershala Ali stars as Latif, a devoutly religious hitman, who embarks on a desperate journey across Houston to protect his children after his wife dies, confronting forces closing in and beliefs threatening to unravel. John Cho and Giancarlo Esposito also star.
