Skins vs. Being Human, Sarah Michelle Gellar returns to TV, Parks & Rec murals and more

— The North American adaptations of British hits Skins and Being Human are set to premiere tonight. Check out the latest edition of the TV Casualty Podcast for our reviews. We also reviewed Off the Map. Skins airs at 10:00 p.m. on The Movie Network and Movie Central in Canada (airs on MTV in the U.S.). Being Human also airs at 10:00 p.m. on Space in Canada (and Syfy in the U.S.). A special live edition of InnerSPACE will air at 11:00 p.m. and will feature interviews with actors Sam Witwer, Meaghan Rath and Sam Huntington. I’d recommend watching Being Human live and then checking out Skins later on. As a big fan of the UK version, I was really impressed with the Montreal-shot series. You can check out the podcast here.

Chuck’s back tonight! A couple of upcoming guest stars will include Lauren Cohan (Rose on The Vampire Diaries) and Robin Givens. Cohan is expected to play Vivian, who is the daughter of a criminal mastermind while Givens will play a powerful and controlling agency boss who makes Casey and offer.

— Also airing tonight is a special edition of Jersey Shore…because there’s no other way that MTV could honour MLK.

Sarah Michelle Gellar will star in a new pilot for CBS called Ringer. The series will focus around a young woman who is on the run from the mob and takes on the identity of her wealthy twin sister.

John Lithgow is in negotiations to appear on How I Met Your Mother as Barney’s father.

Illeana Douglas has had to drop out of guest role on Gossip Girl due to a scheduling conflict. The show is looking to recast. Douglas was expected to play Lily’s sister Carol in April. Krysten Ritter appeared as the young Carol Rhodes in Gossip Girl’s 2009 flashback episode, “Valley Girls.”

Details takes a look at all the inappropriate Pawnee murals on Parks & Recreation with writer Norm Hiscock and production designer Ian Phillips. You can check them out here.

Anne Hathaway ran into Ryan Murphy at the Golden Globes last night and they worked on a deal to have her appear on Glee. She’s created her own role and should appear as Kurt’s lesbian aunt.
