Peacock has renewed fan-favourite Days of our Lives for two additional seasons, bringing the show to its 60th anniversary year in 2025.

Earlier this year the soap made its move from NBC to U.S. streaming service Peacock and from Global TV to W Network in Canada, a move in which series star Deidre Hall (Dr. Marlena Evans) had complete faith in. “I know we’re in good hands. [They] make good, smart decisions,” she shared with The TV Watercooler following the announcement of the move. “The things we get to do on Peacock are [so much more] freeing.”

Garnering 61 Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Writing for Daytime Drama in 2022, Days of our Lives welcomed back super couple Bo and Hope (played by Kristian Alfonso and Peter Reckell) this week – delighting fans.

“I think daytime is a medium for love stories and super couples,” shared Hall in the same interview. “We’ve had Macdonald Carrey and Francis Reid’s Tom and Alice Horton [from the start]. John [Drake Hogestyn] is Marlena’s life-long partner, and they get to be smart, romantic, fun, and go on capers! I think they’re good role models. It’s the same with Patch and Kayla (Stephen Nichols and Mary Beth Evans).”

Created by Ted and Betty Corday, Days of our Lives premiered on November 8, 1965, and is produced by their son Ken Corday. Albert Alarr serves as an executive producer while Ron Carlivati is the head writer.

Days of our Lives airs weekdays on W Network in Canada and streams on Peacock in the U.S. Canadian viewers can catch up on demand, on the Global app, STACKTV and on GlobalTV.com the next day.
