How to Watch the 2025 MTV VMAs in Canada
The 2025 MTV Video Music Awards will air live this Sunday, September 7 on CBS and Global TV in Canada at 8 p.m. ET/PT. Canadians will also be able to stream the award ceremony on the Global TV app, GlobalTV.com, and STACKTV.
Hosted by LL Cool J, this year’s MTV VMAs will take place from New York’s UBS Arena and will include performances by Alex Warren, Busta Rhymes, J Balvin ft. DJ Snake, Ricky Martin, Sabrina Carpenter, sombr, Conan Gray, Doja Cat, Jelly Roll, Post Malone, Tate McRae, Bailey Zimmerman ft. the Kid LAROI, Lola Young, Megan Moroney, and Lady Gaga.
Steven Tyler, Joe Perry, YUNGBLUD, and Nuno Betencourt will also honour Ozzy Osbourne in a tribute set for the rock legend.
Mariah Carey will also be receiving the coveted Video Vanguard Award and is expected to perform a “show-stopping, career-spanning” medley of her biggest hits.
Hip-hop legend Busta Rhymes will receive the MTV VMA Rock The Bells Visionary Award, while Ricky Martin will also be honoured with the Latin Icon Award.
Lady Gaga leads this year’s nominations – including Video of the Year, Artist of the Year, and Best Album – along with Ariana Grande, Billie Eilish, Bruno Mars, Kendrick Lamar, ROSÉ, and Sabrina Carpenter. For a full list of nominees and to vote, click here.
Presenters include Ashlee Simpson Ross, Brittany Snow, Ciara, KPop Demon Hunters’ EJAE, REI AMI + Audrey Nuna (Huntr/x), Ice Spice, Jessica Simpson, Latto, Livvy Dunne, Malin Ackerman, Meg Stalter, Nikki Glaser and Paris Hilton.
In Canada, 2025 marks the first time that the MTV VMAs will be airing on the Global Television Network, having previously aired on MTV (which shut down on Dec. 31, 2024) and Much, in addition to the Paramount-owned Pluto TV in recent years.
