Upfronts: ABC’s Fall Schedule

ABC has announced its fall schedule. Scheduling your TV schedule on Thursday night just got a lot more complicated. The new Charlie’s Angels will air at 8 p.m., the same time as favourites Community and Parks and Recreation on NBC and probably The Vampire Diaries on The CW. Talk about a timeshifting and DVR-ing nightmare. Extreme Makeover: Home Edition moves from Sunday to Friday and Cougar Town is being kept until midseason (should air Tuesday in between the seasons of Dancing with the Stars). Tim Allen returns to ABC with Last Man Standing as does Emily Van Camp in Revenge.

9:00 p.m. – Desperate Housewives
10:00 p.m. – Pan Am

Midseason: As mentioned before, Cougar Town (which is a really dumb decision, but hey, it’s ABC); new Dallas soap, Good Christian Belles (previously known as Good Christian Bitches), comes from Darren Star and stars Leslie Bibb (Popular) and Kristin Chenoweth (Glee and Pushing Daisies); Missing (starring Ashley Judd); The River (starring Bruce Greenwood); latest Shonda Rhimes offering, Scandal; Apartment 23 (Krysten Ritter and James Van Der Beek as a fictionalized version of himself); Work It (Prison Break’s Amaury Nolasco).

Cancelled: No network does “bloodbath” better: All My Children, One Life to Live, Brothers & Sisters, Better With You, Mr. Sunshine, Detroit 1-8-7, No Ordinary Family and Off the Map.

What I’ll be Watching: Current favourites: Modern Family and Happy Endings. Maybe even Once Upon A Time since it stars Ginnifer Goodwin, which will probably lead to Desperate Housewives. I’m much more excited about the midseason offerings: Cougar Town, Good Christian Bitches and Apartment 23. I’m a bit curious to see Christina Ricci dressed as a stewardess in the 60s series, Pan Am. Oh and obviously, Charlie’s Angels.
