Warner Bros. announced on Thursday that Ben Affleck will replace Christian Bale as Batman/Bruce Wayne in the upcoming Superman vs. Batman film, according to Variety.
The film project will be a spin-off of this summer's Man of Steel blockbuster and is slated to hit theaters on July 17, 2015. While Bale had stated publicly that 2012's The Dark Knight Rises would be his final appearance as the caped crusader, many fans were hoping he'd change his mind as Christopher Nolan would continue his involvement in the Warner Bros./D.C. franchise. Reports suggested last week that Bale was being offered a cool $50 million to reprise the role.
Affleck is no stranger to comic book films, the actor portrayed Daredevil in the 2003 film adaptation of the popular Marvel character. At 41, the actor almost fits in the mid-4os" age-range that the studio was rumoured to be interested in. Zack Snyder will return to direct the sequel while Henry Cavill (Superman / Clark Kent), Amy Adams (Lois Lane), Diane Lane (Martha Kent) and Laurence Fishburne (Perry White) are all slated to reprise their Man of Steel roles.

The end of Batman……Ben Affleck is a terrible idea……cast an unknown actor.
Might as well consider John Travolta if you are considering Ben Affleck.
Bad choice. They should’ve gotten David Ogden Stiers. He was great as Martian Manhunter and would’ve made the perfect Batman!
He does not fit the superhero role…. He is more of an Argo kind of actor….

i’m concerned about this decision however i will wait and see what happens is this the end or a new beginning…
might be a false trail,a ruse if you will they might have talked bale into reprising the role and are using affleck as a distraction….
Not a fan of this decision at all. I don’t mind Affleck as an actor, but not for this role. I much prefer when an unknown is chosen for comic book roles. Just reminds me of George Clooney as Batman for some reason and that was an epic failure in my opinion.
Christian Bale did a great job portraying the persona of the comic batman.
Ben Affleck is a return to the Michael Keaton / George Clooney Batmans. They are good actors, not good choices for a batman. (think of Daredevil)
This is such a horrible idea. He was bad as the Daredevil and now this will kill Batman and kill the Man of Steel sequel. I said from the beginning that Henry Cavill should be Superman and he did get cast…GREAT!!! I now say KARL URBAN should be Batman and I think WB/Zack Snyder should reconsider their decision…I like Ben, but not in this role…EVER!!!!!!
I have been waiting for a great Superman reboot and they did it, but the sequel will kill it if Ben is cast.

Who cares? It’s a movie, who makes everyone judge and jury. Not happy ? Don’t go see it, Happy? Buy a ticket and some popcorn Call me crazy , but Syrian war is more scarey than who plays Batman..
